'Bugfest' a Beastly Success!
The Elephants enjoyed a fantastic visit from Nick and his friends in the school hall!
The children were very excited for their special visitors this morning and it is safe to say they weren't disappointed! All of the children were so brave, many of them stepping outside of their comfort zone to handle a range of fascinating, exotic invertebrates from all over the world. We saw giant snails, millipedes, stick insects, and scorpions among others. Miss Jessop, Mrs Evans and Mrs Burnham-Slipper even held tarantulas! The children had the chance to ask Nick (the bug expert) lots of questions and find out all about creepy crawlies past and present. Did you know that millipedes used to be the same length as 8 children stood next to each other?
